What's the Best Way to Transport Tall Centerpieces?

What's the best way to get tall centerpieces to the venue?

Tall centerpieces are a beautiful detail and can add a lot of drama to a reception venue's decor. But due to their size and heft, they can be a bit tricky to transport. If you've hired a florist, they should be responsible for getting arrangements to the venue—this is a delivery charge you're smart to pony up for. Most floral designers have their own methods for transporting arrangements (and the giant van to do so with ease) and they can vary based on the arrangement type and the materials used.

Jessica Switala of Fleurs de France in Sonoma County, California, recommends that brides don't attempt to transport their own flowers, especially not tall centerpieces. With all the risk and stress involved, we have to agree—centerpieces are on our DIY don't list. “A lot goes into flower care and management, including production, packing and loading for an event, installation, and then the breakdown," Switala says. In addition, florists are usually prepared to fix things if something goes wrong in transport or setup.
