Top Pinterest Party Trends You’ll Want at Your Summer Wedding

Share

Every season, Pinterest digs into their inventory to see what people are searching for and which new trends are on the horizon. With it being summertime barbecue season and, of course, outdoor wedding season, Pinterest picked a handful of outdoor entertaining trends—perfect to incorporate into your décor and food at your outdoor reception.

  1. Outdoor Décor

Breathe some life into your outdoor celebration with a vibrant color palette—tangerine is the hottest hue of the season, trailing behind terra cotta and millennial pink. When it comes to décor, searches for outdoor living room ideas are up by 31 percent. So bring the indoors out with gallery walls, upholstered furniture, pillows, coffee tables and rugs.

  2. Cocktail Hour

Give your cocktails a makeover with decorative ice cubes. Adding fruit or edible flowers to ice trays is an easy way to elevate drinks. Repurposed fruit is having a moment too, so think about how that coconut shell or hollowed out cantaloupe can be used as an appetizer display or cocktail glass. The hottest spirit? Swap tequila for mezcal.

  3. The Menu

Surprise your guests’ taste buds with some smoky flavor, from mac and cheese to onion rings. If you want to keep the barbecue flavor going strong, opt for barbecue-in-a bowl options to keep hands clean. Barbecue bowls are up 52 percent and we’re guessing it’s because of the convenience: Deconstructed burgers and corn cut off the cob means no one will have to duck into the restroom to floss or wash off sticky condiment residue

  4. Favors

Gifting plants are still the most popular way to go, but aloe is the trendiest succulent to pass along as a thank-you. Aloe vera gardening has increased by a whopping 67 percent. Aloe plants are easy to grow and they actually provide the recipient with a useful house plant that can relieve pain from scratches or summer sunburns. (Talk about a useful favor!)
